Sophie Jane Corner is a London based actor, creative, and physical theatre specialist with strong ties to the East Midlands. A previous 2024/2025 New Associate with New Perspectives and current Amplify Associate with Nottingham Playhouse, Sophie has built a range of credits spanning film, theatre, commercial work, and voice-over, with over fifty credits to her name.
Her movement expertise has been sharpened through advanced workshops with companies such as Frantic Assembly, including their Advanced and Masterclass sessions. Additionally, Sophie holds a 250-hour yoga qualification, integrating her physical practice into her performance work.
In 2024, Sophie created CORNERED, a movement workshop known for its sharp, dynamic ensemble and solo movement. The same year, she produced IT’S NOTT WORKING in collaboration with the Squire Performing Arts Centre in Nottingham, a new style of networking event that united East Midlands creatives across multiple disciplines, which has had 2 successful years so far.
Sophie’s first self-produced Feature film, HINDSIGHT, will premiere in 2025 under her production company, IN LIMBO. This project showcases her unique ability to merge her skills in acting, physical theatre, and production into a cohesive and innovative format.
As the co-founder of the Amplify Actors Collective, alongside Rafe Bird, Sophie launched this initiative in January 2024 in partnership with Nottingham Playhouse. The collective fosters a collaborative and vibrant environment for professional actors in the East Midlands, encouraging growth and connection within the regional acting community.
