I've worked within the arts sector for 25 years, working within arts funders as an assessor and as a fundraiser, business development and management, artistic professional development, curating and production of arts programmes and events. I'm an art artist and continue to develop my own practice.
You can find support and experience through joining local groups and activities, finding out what is available and making friends outside of your usual circles. Be open minded and willing to learn. It’s a great way to start to understand what type of activities you enjoy and which environments, this will open up your world and help you understand other peoples’ experience.
